Our stencils are precision-cut from thin, flexible plastic mylar sheet . Mylar is the industry-standard stencil material because it is tear-resistant, washable, solvent-safe and flexible enough to bend around corners and curved surfaces without cracking.

You can stencil on painted walls, canvas, wood, MDF, fabric, paper, glass, ceramic, metal, concrete floors and furniture. The surface should be clean, dry and smooth. For glossy surfaces like glass or tile, lightly secure the stencil with painter's tape or repositionable spray adhesive for the sharpest edges.

Acrylic paint is best for walls, canvas and wood; fabric paint for textiles; and chalk paint for furniture. Use very little paint on a dry stencil brush, foam dauber or dense foam roller, and dab or roll in light layers. Thick or watery paint is the main cause of bleeding under stencil edges.

Small and medium stencils ship flat between rigid card sheets; large wall-size stencils are rolled inside a sturdy postal tube . Mylar is flexible, so even a rolled stencil flattens out perfectly: leave it under a few books for an hour before use.

Possibly, depending on your country's import rules. Stencils are low-value craft goods, so most orders to the USA, UK and Gulf countries arrive without extra charges, but any customs duty or VAT charged by your country is the buyer's responsibility. Details are on our shipping page.

Use a nearly dry brush or foam roller: load it lightly, dab off excess on paper, then apply thin layers with a straight up-and-down dabbing motion. Secure the stencil flat with painter's tape or repositionable spray adhesive. Two thin coats always look sharper than one heavy coat.

Rinse the stencil with warm water immediately after painting, before the paint dries, and rub gently with your fingers or a soft sponge. For dried acrylic, soak it in warm soapy water for 15-30 minutes, then peel the paint film away. Never scrub with anything sharp, and dry it flat.

Store stencils clean, dry and flat: ideally inside a folder, under a board, or hanging from a clip. Keep them away from direct heat and sunlight, which can warp plastic over time. Stored this way, a mylar stencil stays usable for many years.

Yes, mylar is solvent-resistant, so spray paint works well, especially on wood, metal and fabric. Hold the can 20-25 cm away, spray light passes at a low angle, and mask the surrounding area generously, because spray drifts further than brush paint. Clean overspray off the stencil afterward.
